The town

For 300 years leather manufacturing has been at the heart of Ubrique. Since the beginning of the 20th C it has been building a reputation for being one of the leading centres for luxury leather goods. But its relationship with leather goes all the way back to the town's foundation in Roman times.

The majority of luxury leather goods produced in Spain are actually made in Ubrique. If your handbag or wallet says 'Made in Spain' there's a good chance it was made here.
